Chichester is a cathedral city in Chichester district in West Sussex. It is also a university city, hosting the University of Chichester. The area has a long history dating back to Roman times. Chichester Cathedral is a prominent and beautiful landmark. There are many others. Racegoers and followers of the turf will know about 'Glorious' Goodwood Racecourse. Goodwood is also the name of a car racing circuit in the same locale.

A great family day out can be had in Fishbourne Roman Palace and Gardens in Salthill Road. Workmen digging around the area in the 1960s accidentally discovered a buried Roman palace, with fascinating artifacts and wonderful mosaics. The formal garden has been replanted using available evidence to produce a Roman garden complete with plants from that era.

The only city in the county is Chichester, which is also the county town but there are major towns including Crawley, Horsham, Midhurst, Worthing, Arundel, Bognor Regis and Shoreham-by-Sea among others.

Among the many excellent places to visit in West Sussex are Arundel Castle (classic, fairtytale-like castle built during the reign of William the Conqueror), the Vandalian Tower and Wings Museum. Counties adjacent to West Sussex include Surrey, Hampshire, East Sussex and Brighton and Hove.

CONVEYANCING COSTS IN Chichester

The solicitors' fees for handling your conveyance vary dramatically depending on whether you approach an online conveyancing solicitor, a high street conveyancer or a solicitor introduced by your estate agent.

The actual conveyancing costs, outside of the legal work, should be fixed as they are set including:

For buyers: stamp duty, land registration, property searches, ID searches and leasehold charges (if buying a leasehold property).

For sellers: office copies, title plan and management information (if selling a leasehold property).

It is important to make sure when budgeting the costs of moving home that you factor in all of the above conveyancing costs and ensure you get a fixed fee conveyancing quote from your chosen solicitor or conveyancer.
