Havering is a London Borough in east London, just over 19 miles from the capital’s centre. The main town in the borough is Romford and the other main settlements are Upminster, Rainham and Hornchurch. The borough contains a mix of residential areas with high streets at their centre with a major retail and entertainment centre at Romford as well as a number of pleasant open spaces. Landmarks and attractions include the 18th century Langtons House and gardens and the Diver sculpture in Rainham.

The Havering area contains many railway services including both overground and tube trains. Upminster Station, for example, is served by overground services on the line between London Fenchurch Street and Southend as well as being the terminus of the District Line on the tube network. 

Romford Station, on the line connecting London Liverpool Street and Shenfield, is set to be served by trains on the Crossrail network, which has increased house prices there. There are major trunk roads running through the borough, most notably the A12 and the A13.
