How to get a mortgage - or remortgage - in Hayes

Hayes is a town in West London, 13 miles west of Central London and is part of Hillingdon Borough. It was known for being the home of the EMI record company. Attractions include the Beck Theatre in Grange Road, which hosts an excellent range of productions whether dance, drama or comedy and also panto; also the London Motor Museum in Nestles Avenue near Hayes & Harlington Station - a must for any petrol-head!

The mortgage application process has 4 stages regardless of which mortgage lender you use:

  • Approval in principal (AIP)
  • Mortgage in principal (MIP)
  • Mortgage valuation
  • Mortgage Offer

Mortgage Broker Tip

Automate payments wherever possible

Because keeping a reasonable credit score is so strongly tied to making the right repayments on time, it's very worthwhile to use any form of automated repayment service whenever you can.

Assuming you've budgeted accordingly and have the requisite funds available, which not remove the strain of having to remember to make the actual repayments to the right companies? You've done the hard work already!

Remortgage

When you already have a mortgage in place, there are various reasons why you might want to renew your mortgage or change providers. This is called getting a remortgage. You might have come to the end of a fixed interest term period, for example, and be seeking a new fixed interest term rather than going on to your lender's standard variable rate, or you might want to get a lump sum to carry out a loft conversion.

Mortgage Broker Tips for the Conveyancing Process

Be wary of going on holiday

You should consider avoiding going on holiday until your conveyancing is finished, even if you instruct your solicitor to progress things in your absence.

You may have to take a particular decision, find out some information or carry out some other action resulting from your conveyancing. This may become very complicated if you are abroad. All of this can lead to delays.

At the very least, you should ensure that you've already provided your solicitor with your proof of ID & proof of funds and that they know you are away, when you are coming back and how to contact you.
