Bicester is most well known for Bicester Village which is a large designer outlet centre with many famous brands having stores within it. Other modern notable places include the North Oxford Cricket Club, Bicester Rugby Club and Bicester Leisure Centre. There are many other shops and attractions such as the Vue Cinema.
The town itself is situated 15 miles northeast of Oxford, 50 miles east of Cheltenham and 63 miles northwest of London. Historically it is a market town that dates back to Saxon times. It has military links and during the Civil War it was the headquarters of parliamentary forces. During the First World War, Bicester Airfield became a Royal Airforce Station.

The county borders Warwickshire to the north/north-west, Northamptonshire to the north/north-east, Buckinghamshire to the east, Berkshire to the south, Wiltshire to the south-west and Gloucestershire to the west.

What are the conveyancing costs?
Bicester Conveyancing Solicitor fees dramatically vary depending on whether you approach an online conveyancing solicitor, a high street conveyancer or housing solicitors introduced by your estate agent.
The actual conveyancing costs, outside of the legal work, should be fixed as they are set including:
For buyers: stamp duty, land registration, property searches, ID searches and leasehold charges (if buying a leasehold property).
For sellers: office copies, title plan and management information (if selling a leasehold property).
It is important to make sure when budgeting the costs of moving home that you factor in all of the above conveyancing costs and ensure you get a fixed fee conveyancing quote from your chosen local solicitors or licensed conveyancer.
Whether you're a cash buyer or buying with a mortgage solicitors are key to the whole process, making the right choice critically important.

Read our guides on how you can get all three:
How much stamp duty must you pay on a shared ownership property?
When you buy a shared ownership property, initially you only have to pay stamp duty based on the percentage of the property you're buying, not the full selling price.
You can, however, choose to pay stamp duty based on the whole selling price: this is known as a market value election. However, people mostly just pay any stamp duty due on their first premium (the first percentage share that they buy) and an additional payment based on ground rent if a new lease has been created.
After that, there is no legal requirement to pay stamp duty until you have staircased up to ownership of more than 80% of the property, at which point you have to pay for the stamp duty on the whole percentage you've bought minus what you paid for the first premium/percentage.
