Ripon is a City in the Borough of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is located at the confluence of two tributaries of the River Ure, the Laver and Skell. The city is noted for its main feature which is its cathedral. In the Tudor times Ripon, which strongly relied on its religious institutions, was negatively affected by the English Reformation under the rule of the king Henry VIII.
It's the third smallest city in England by population, being a city by virtue of containing a cathedral and it is close to Studley Royal Park and Fountains Abbey which form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has curious unique features such as the Ripon Hornblower and dancing traditions such as the Long Sword dance. It also has a famous eponymous racecourse.

What are the conveyancing costs?
Ripon Conveyancing Solicitor fees dramatically vary depending on whether you approach an online conveyancing solicitor, a high street conveyancer or housing solicitors introduced by your estate agent.
The actual conveyancing costs, outside of the legal work, should be fixed as they are set including:
For buyers: stamp duty, land registration, property searches, ID searches and leasehold charges (if buying a leasehold property).
For sellers: office copies, title plan and management information (if selling a leasehold property).
It is important to make sure when budgeting the costs of moving home that you factor in all of the above conveyancing costs and ensure you get a fixed fee conveyancing quote from your chosen local solicitors or licensed conveyancer.
Whether you're a cash buyer or buying with a mortgage solicitors are key to the whole process, making the right choice critically important.

How long should your conveyancing take?
As a rule of thumb, assuming your conveyancing is a relatively standard, you should estimate the whole process taking between 6 to 8 weeks for a freehold and 8 to 12 weeks for a leasehold.
It's virtually impossible, however, to be exact about this – some new builds need to be completed in 28 days whereas shared ownership conveyancing might take 12 weeks. You have to factor in the length of any chain involved – more parties means more potential delays –and local authority searches can sometimes take more than 2 weeks to be delivered.
There are things you can do to guard against delays if you're looking for fast conveyancing. You might, for example, choose to book your mortgage valuation and your property searches (if buying with a mortgage) on the day you instruct your solicitors.
