Benfleet is a pleasant town in the Castle Point district of Essex County, around 30 miles east of Central London and is just north of Canvey Island.

Landmarks include St Mary Church (Church of England) and Benfleet Water Tower, which is 30 metres high. You can enjoy a great day out in Hadleigh Country Park, a rural expanse with an Iron Age roundhouse on Chapel Lane, and Hadleigh Castle on Castle Lane, which has ruined towers dating back to the 1200s which overlook marshes.
