Selling or buying a home with our Cromer Conveyancing Solicitors
Cromer is a seaside town in Norfolk. It is 23 miles north of Norwich, 4 miles east of Sheringham and is on the coast of the North Sea. Evidence for a settlement on the towns current location dates back to 1262 in a person’s will.
The town is known for being a coastal resort and has been so since the early 19th century. It was thought that taking time out by the sea had healing qualities and hence the increase in the towns popularity. The Cromer crab brings tourists to the town and is a major source of income for fishermen in the area.
Landmarks include the coastal cliffs, the Pier, the Church of St Peter and St Pauls and the Hotel de Paris. The Gothic Revival style Cromer Hall is also a notable building, built in 1829.

There are no motorways in the county - the principal trunk roads there are the A10 and A11 - although Norwich does have an international airport. There are two universities, namely the University of East Anglia located on the outskirts of Norwich, and Norwich University of the Arts, located in St George's Street in Norwich city centre.
Norfolk has a number of amusement parks, zoos, stately homes and nature reserves, including Thrigby Hall near Great Yarmouth (tiger enclosure, primates and reptiles), Holkham Hall (beautiful 18th century stately home with a deer park, Banham Zoo and Pensthorpe Nature Reserve near Fakenham (lapwing, Eurasian crane, Marabou stork).

Which Property Searches Do You Need?
Your new house in Cromer may be your ideal home, but you wouldn't want to invest a large amount of money to later find there could be something wrong with it. That is why we recommend booking searches to investigate any potential risks or threats to your property and its surrounding area. These could be preservation orders, flood risks, radon gas seepage, drainage issues or liability to pay the church for repairs.
We always recommend that you book searches from the Cromer Town Council. You should, at the very least, book these four: local authority, drainage, environment and chancel repair.
It is possible that these searches will flag up suggested additional searches such as HS2, flood and mining reports. Your solicitor can advise you on this.
