For buyers: stamp duty, land registration, property searches, ID searches and leasehold charges (if buying a leasehold property).
For sellers: office copies, title plan and management information (if selling a leasehold property).
It is important to make sure when budgeting the costs of moving home that you factor in all of the above conveyancing costs and ensure you get a fixed fee conveyancing quote from your chosen local solicitors or licensed conveyancer.

Fast, good and cheap conveyancing
Read our guides on how you can get all three:
Will your solicitor accept cash to pay your exchange deposit?
Most solicitors will not accept cash as funds for paying for a property purchases. This is because it's almost impossible to prove the source of funds. If they do, they will probably put a limit of a few hundred pounds at most and even if you deposit a large sum of cash into a bank account, you'll most likely still have to compile robust evidence of its original provenance.
Solicitors must always carry out robust due diligence on the money which passes through their firms. They face jail terms and unlimited fines either for not adhering to money laundering regulations or for breaking laws on money laundering set down in the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (as amended).
None of this means that, for example, you can't use money for conveyancing that was legitimately derived from activities like gambling. It just means that, whatever the legitimate source of funds, you'll need to prove the legitimacy using for example bank account statements and legal, traceable receipts.
