Stay living in one place

Ever wonder why you get asked, “Have you lived at this address for longer than 3 years?” If you haven’t been registered at one address for a long period of time this will affect your credit rating because a mortgage lender wants to know where you live. If you keep moving, this shows a lack of stability and inconsistency increasing your risk profile.

Stay put and register everything you have to at this one address. Show a stable living and continuous residential address and your credit score will go up.

Current Account Mortgage

Current account mortgages are a version of offset mortgage where your current account and mortgage are converted to one account. The idea is that when you get paid, the credit reduces your mortgage sum, so mortgage repayments become cheaper, however the more of your pay you use, the more that the repayments rise to 'normal' levels.

The more your account is in credit, the more capital you'll pay off. You can't normally access discounted rates with this kind of mortgage.

Worksop is a large town in Nottinghamshire bordering Sherwood Forest – of the Robin Hood legend – to the north. It serves as a commuter dormitory because of its excellent location to a number of significant urban centres, such as Sheffield and equally its motorway and rail links. It's known as the "Gateway to The Dukeries" because of four obsolete ducal principal sites south of the town, two of which, being Clumber House (now a Grade I-listed historic park and garden) and Welbeck Abbey (although it has a Grade listed house) no longer contain the original buildings they were named after.

The area is the location of the Battle of Worksop, which was in the period of the War of the Roses and the arrival of the Chesterfield Canal in 1777 and railway in 1849 led to the town's growth – as did the discovery of sizeable coal seams in the area.

Landmarks and attractions include all four of the ducal estates and buildings, Mr Straw's House, the Hodsock Priory, Creswell Crags, Worksop Priory Church, Thoresby Courtyard and Gallery and Bolsover Castle.

Worksop Mortgage Broker Insider Tips

Instruct a solicitor even before your offer has been accepted.

If you instruct a solicitor at the earliest possible time, once your offer on a Worksop property is accepted, you will be ready to get things underway and the seller will see how intent you are on purchasing their property.

By being organised you are indicating to the seller that you should be able to complete in good time and the process will be as smooth as possible, thereby potentially increasing your chance of success.
