Selling or buying a home with our Totnes Conveyancing Solicitors
Totnes is a market town situated 28 miles southwest of Exeter and 24 miles east of Plymouth. The town is a hub for music, art and theatre and is known for providing a place to live a ‘bohemian lifestyle’.
Evidence for the towns presence dates back to 1136 when it was mentioned in the book ‘Historia Regum Britanniae’. The Brutus Stone can be found in the town and is thought to be the small granite boulder on which Brutus of Troy, the mythical founder of Britain, took his first step onto the land from his Ship.
Totnes Castle is one of the most well-preserved Norman mottle and bailey castles. The Castle is on a large hill overlooking the town and so is a popular landmark in Totnes. It is thought to have been built in the 12th century.

Can you sell your property privately or using the internet?
You can sell your property in any way you choose but we advise you always to check the various costs involved and carefully to compare prices and what service you can expect for your money.
You should note that a traditional estate agent may expect you to pay a fee even if they don't manage to sell your property. It's always worth carefully inspecting the terms of your agreement before you go ahead and in particular you should note whether you have to give a notice period before terminating your agreement.
