Turned down for credit unfairly? Appeal to the company involved

You have the option to appeal to a company which has turned down your application for credit if you feel the rejection is unfair. In the event that the decision was made by an automated system, you can ask for it to be reviewed.

If this approach does not work, don't immediately apply for similar credit from another company as you may make the situation worse in terms of your credit score. You should instead check your credit file, take any necessary steps to improve your credit score and leave it at least 3 months before you approach another lender.

Offset Mortgage

With any form of offset mortgage the applicant normally has a linked account which bears interest and this interest is offset against the interest payable on their mortgage loan, making repayments cost less.

The flip side is that interest rates charged on these mortgages may be higher than normal and, of course, the income from interest on the linked account can no longer be used for any other purpose.

Croydon also hosts the famous Brit School, based in Selhurst, which has produced stars such as Amy Winehouse and Kate Nash. Open spaces include Lloyd Park and Long Lane Woods.
