Try not to use all of the possible credit available to you

To credit agencies, a person who has taken up all available credit can look overextended financially.

This can negatively affect a credit rating as the person will be regarded as statistically more likely to miss payments or make them late.

Capped Rate Mortgage

These are a type of variable rate mortgage, based on a lender's standard variable rate (SVR), but one where the rate cannot become higher than an agreed level (and therefore the repayments more expensive).

You can gain from these types of mortgages if the lender's SVR comes down, however you need to be sure that you have enough finance to make monthly repayments as high as the level of the cap, which may itself be set quite high. You often find also that the rate itself is generally higher than for other variable and fixed rate mortgages.

Finchley is an affluent residential suburb in FInchley Borough in North London. It has great shops and is particularly notable for the variety of world cuisines to be found in its many independent restaurants. Of particular note are Genzo on the High Road (East Finchley - Greek cuisine), the Khoai Cafe in Topsfield Parade (North Finchley - Vietnamese cuisine) and Durum in Ballards Lane (Finchley Central as well as a branch in nearby Golders Green - Turkish cuisine). It also contains Glebelands, a lovely local nature reserve.

Finchley Mortgage Broker Insider Tips

Book your home buyers survey as soon as you have your offer accepted.

Getting a RICS home buyers survey is always recommended because you get an expert opinion on whether a property you want to buy has any defects which may give you grounds to bargain for a lower price with a vendor or even pull out.

Once you have instructed a RICS surveyor, it may take perhaps up to 10 days before they can carry out their inspection and then they may take five working days (or more) to get the report back to you. You should therefore keep delays to a minimum by booking your survey as soon as possible.
