Never forget the APRsYou should always be aware of the different APRs which accompany the credit cards etc. which you take up, because you need to know how much your borrowing is costing you.
Lower APRs mean lower interest payments which means the debt is cheaper to service. Conversely you should repay debt tied to higher APRs first. | Discounted Variable Rate MortgageThese mortgages are variable rate mortgages and involve a discount from the lender's standard variable rate (SVR).
You gain from the discount but because the rate can vary, you risk it rising to a level which you can't sustain in terms of repayments. The discount often lasts for a fixed period during which you can only leave subject to a substantial early repayment charge. |
