Staffordshire is a county in the West Midlands region of England and its largest city is Stoke-on-Trent, which is its own independent unitary authority. Other major settlements in the county include Lichfield, a cathedral city which is much smaller than Stoke, Stafford (the county town), Burton upon Trent, Cannock, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Leek and Tamworth.
Flash, the highest village in Britain, which stands at 463 metres above sea level, is in the county. The Staffordshire breed of bull terrier takes its name from the county as a dog bred for hunting. The county hosts the hilly Peak District and Cannock Chase, an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are more miles of canal in Staffordshire than in any other county in England and there are also many coalfields.
The county contains two universities, the University of Keele and the University of Staffordshire. Stoke-on-Trent is the major transport hub and there are two motorways going through the county, the M6 and the M54. Stoke-on-Trent railway station offers direct services to London Euston.
Staffordshire was where the first jar of Marmite was produced. Justus Von Liebig realised that a by-product of beer brewing could be bottled and eaten. Adjacent counties include Cheshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire and Shropshire.

Hinckley Conveyancing Solicitor fees dramatically vary depending on whether you approach an online conveyancing solicitor, a high street conveyancer or housing solicitors introduced by your estate agent.
The actual conveyancing costs, outside of the legal work, should be fixed as they are set including:
For buyers: stamp duty, land registration, property searches, ID searches and leasehold charges (if buying a leasehold property).
For sellers: office copies, title plan and management information (if selling a leasehold property).
It is important to make sure when budgeting the costs of moving home that you factor in all of the above conveyancing costs and ensure you get a fixed fee conveyancing quote from your chosen local solicitors or licensed conveyancer.
What does the Regulated Local Authority Search include?
The Regulated Local Authority Search is the most important of the four main searches that lenders expect from those who are buying a home with a mortgage.
The local authority search examines matters such as local land charges (including, for example, tree preservation orders) and details on planning applications relevant to the property, restrictions on permitted development, road schemes and contaminated land.
The main sections within the Regulated Local Authority Search are: a list of relevant entries in the Local Charges Register, Information on planning applications relevant to the property, building control history, any enforcement action, restrictions on permitted development, nearby road schemes, contaminated land and radon gas information.
