Selling or buying a home with our Skegness Conveyancing Solicitors
Skegness is a seaside town in Lincolnshire in the East Lindsey district and is famous for being where Butlin's opened their first holiday resort.
Originally a fishing village and small port, it started to develop into a town with the arrival of the railway in 1875 and scheduled excursions by rail from London King's Cross commenced in 1908.
Landmarks in and around the town include the Diamond Jubilee Clock Tower; Compass Gardens – including the Jolly Fisherman statue; Skegness Pier; the Fairy Dell paddling pool and the Natureland Seal Sanctuary.

It is notable for not having any major urban areas, although the coastal population can rapidly rise seasonally because of the coast’s popularity with tourists visiting places such as Skegness and Mablethorpe. The ambience is predominantly rural, with, for example, shops in most areas remaining closed on Sundays.
The county is particularly popular also with birdwatchers, who flock(!) to the fenland areas in the southeast of the county and the nature reserves at Gibraltar Point, Saltfleetby and Theddlethorpe.
Villages are generally self-contained. The county borders Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Rutland, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire. Additionally, it has a border with Northamptonshire in the south: the shortest county boundary at a tiny 20 yards/18 metres.
Lincoln has two universities, the University of Lincoln and Bishop Grosseteste University.

Which Property Searches Do You Need?
When you buy a property, it can sometimes be the largest investment you make. The last thing you want is to find out there may be some issues that may reduce the value of your property.
Ordering searches are an effective way to investigate any worries or threats which may affect the property. These can include subsidence, radon gas seepage, flood risks, planning permissions and preservation orders.
Therefore, we recommend that you book at least four searches from the East Lindsey District Council: local authority, environmental, drainage and chancel repair.
If as a result of these searches, any additional searches are suggested, your conveyancing solicitor will advise you. These could be a Flood Risk, Mining or HS2 Report.
