By railway, Ongar is accessed by train to Brentwood from London Liverpool Street, then taking the 21 bus. By tube, one travels to Epping, a terminus on the Central Line, then taking a 420 bus. There used to be a connection on the Central Line between Epping and Ongar however this was discontinued. There is a heritage line running on the same tracks however this is not a commuter service and it presently terminates at North Weald, short of Epping Station.

Essex is not only a coastal county (the North Sea is to its east) but a home county because it touches Greater London on its eastern borders. Its settlements vary from Colchester, which is very historical and used to be the capital of England as Camulodunum, to Southend, a seaside resort, to Basildon, which is a comparatively modern urban development. The western side of Essex hosts many London workers and there are fast rail links to, for example, Shenfield from London Liverpool Street which aid many city workers.
Essex's county town is Chelmsford (and is the county's only city), where Essex County Cricket Club are based. Essex hosts Stansted Airport and attractions such as the Lakeside Shopping Centre, near Thurrock and Epping Forest, a popular forest for camping and other activities. A large proportion of Essex's boundaries are water (the River Thames and the North Sea), the remainder includes Greater London, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. Kent is across the River Thames to the south.

Ongar Conveyancing Solicitor fees dramatically vary depending on whether you approach an online conveyancing solicitor, a high street conveyancer or housing solicitors introduced by your estate agent.
The actual conveyancing costs, outside of the legal work, should be fixed as they are set including:
For buyers: stamp duty, land registration, property searches, ID searches and leasehold charges (if buying a leasehold property).
For sellers: office copies, title plan and management information (if selling a leasehold property).
It is important to make sure when budgeting the costs of moving home that you factor in all of the above conveyancing costs and ensure you get a fixed fee conveyancing quote from your chosen local solicitors or licensed conveyancer.
As a rule of thumb, assuming your conveyancing is a relatively standard, you should estimate the whole process taking between 6 to 8 weeks for a freehold and 8 to 12 weeks for a leasehold.
It's virtually impossible, however, to be exact about this – some new builds need to be completed in 28 days whereas shared ownership conveyancing might take 12 weeks. You have to factor in the length of any chain involved – more parties means more potential delays –and local authority searches can sometimes take more than 2 weeks to be delivered.
There are things you can do to guard against delays if you're looking for fast conveyancing. You might, for example, choose to book your mortgage valuation and your property searches (if buying with a mortgage) on the day you instruct your solicitors.
