Shropshire.pngShropshire is a county in England in the West Midlands region. Its county town is Shrewsbury, close to the county’s centre. Other major towns in the county include Telford, Wellington, Dawley, Madeley, Oswestry, Bridgnorth and Ludlow. It has many market towns and remains one of England’s most rural and sparsely populated counties.

Telford is Shropshire’s most populated town with around 138,000 people, which accounts for almost 1/3 of the county’s populace. Adjacent counties include Powys, Wrexham, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire. The Harper Adams University is Shropshire's one university; it offers agricultural courses. Also, the Universities of Chester and Wolverhampton have campuses in the county.

Major roads in the county include the M54 and the A5. Other trunk roads include the A53, A49 and A41. Telford, Shropshire and Wellington offer direct trains to London. The nearest international airports are in Birmingham and Manchester.

The Ironbridge Gorge area is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the county and has many particularly interesting exhibits linked to England’s Industrial Revolution period.

The Shropshire Hills is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and covers about a quarter of the county, mainly in the south.

You can also attend the yearly Sheep Grand National steeplechase at Hoo Farm or alternatively marvel at Ditherington Flax Mill, just outside of Shrewsbury, which, it is claimed is the world’s first skyscraper, built in 1797.

CONVEYANCING COSTS IN Shrewsbury

The solicitors' fees for handling your conveyance vary dramatically depending on whether you approach an online conveyancing solicitor, a high street conveyancer or a solicitor introduced by your estate agent.

The actual conveyancing costs, outside of the legal work, should be fixed as they are set including:

For buyers: stamp duty, land registration, property searches, ID searches and leasehold charges (if buying a leasehold property).

For sellers: office copies, title plan and management information (if selling a leasehold property).

It is important to make sure when budgeting the costs of moving home that you factor in all of the above conveyancing costs and ensure you get a fixed fee conveyancing quote from your chosen solicitor or conveyancer.
