Torquay 's a seaside town in Devon and is on the north of Tor Bay, next to Paignton, a neighbouring town and near to Brixham, a fishing port. Although initially based on fishing and agriculture, the town developed a reputation as a fashionable seaside resort in the early 19th century, initially when Royal Navy members visited it during the Napoleonic Wars when anchored in the bay. It earned the nickname 'The English Riviera'.
The town has numerous landmarks and attractions, including: Kents Cavern, Britain's most important Stone Age site, which was home to early man for some 40,000 years; the Victorian Pavilion; Torquay Museum (the oldest in Devon); Living Coasts, a coastal zoo owned by Paignton Zoo; the Babbacombe Model Village; the Babbacombe Theatre and the Princess Theatre.

Devon is a county in South West England and Exeter is its county town. It has two coastlines with both cliffs and sandy shores and the county has many seaside resorts and fishing ports on the coast whereas inland, terrain is rural and predominantly hilly. Population density is low compared to many other counties. The county also contains Dartmoor, the largest open space in southern England. Adjoining counties include Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.
Largest towns in the county, other than the city of Exeter include Plymouth (a city twice as large in population as Exeter and which is its own unitary authority), Torquay, Paignton, Exmouth, Newton Abbot and Barnstaple.
The county has motorway, the M5 (connecting Exeter with Birmingham), and Exeter has an international airport. There are 3 universities in the county; the University of Exeter, the University of Plymouth and the University of St Mark & St John.
The county contains the national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor (shared with Somerset). Devon is famous for cream teas, has its own form of wrestling and contains the only place with an exclamation mark in its name in the UK - Westward Ho!

Torquay Conveyancing Solicitor fees dramatically vary depending on whether you approach an online conveyancing solicitor, a high street conveyancer or housing solicitors introduced by your estate agent.
The actual conveyancing costs, outside of the legal work, should be fixed as they are set including:
For buyers: stamp duty, land registration, property searches, ID searches and leasehold charges (if buying a leasehold property).
For sellers: office copies, title plan and management information (if selling a leasehold property).
It is important to make sure when budgeting the costs of moving home that you factor in all of the above conveyancing costs and ensure you get a fixed fee conveyancing quote from your chosen local solicitors or licensed conveyancer.
This question doesn't normally arise if you're buying a leasehold property but assuming you're buying a freehold property, there are sometimes restrictions in the title deeds which prevent extensions or require consent of another landowner.
Larger extensions require local authority planning permission and you'll need approval additionally under building regulations if any structural works are required. Some areas are designated conservation areas and special planning restrictions apply which often prevent extensions.
If you've decided that the ability to extend is essential, you'll need to check these matters out before committing to buying.
