Top tips for a Datchet Home Buyers Survey
Datchet is an affluent village in Berkshire which, although the railway arrived in the 1850s, did not greatly increase its population.
There are a fair selection of detached properties there from many periods, from Georgian to very modern developments, and a fair number of semi-detached houses built from the 1920s onwards.
Much of the older properties are in and around the High Street, whereas there were no properties in The Avenue and Slough Road until the 1880s (Windsor Road dates from the 1850s).
There are some new developments in the area, particularly around Windsor Road, such as The Acelan, The Thalys and The Sapsan, all of which are purpose-built flat blocks and some flats are sold under shared ownership.

If you are concerned that a property you are looking to buy is in a flood risk area, you should consider getting a flood risk report (click for more details). | According to the UK Government's Public Health England, some parts of Datchet, including streets such as Manor House Lane and Datchet Place is in a raised radon area, with properties built there having a higher probability than average of experiencing ground Radon emissions. The raised Radon area has a maximum radon potential of 1 – 3% (the percentage is the chance of a property being built where Radon emissions might measure above the action level). Home Buyers Survey - What does it cover?

The aim of the survey, whether a Building Survey (which used to be known as a Full Structural Survey) or a HomeBuyers Report, is to identify potential risks or defects that you may not know are there such as cracks or damage to the structure of the property, subsidence, damp and infestations.
