Top tips for a High Wycombe Home Buyers Survey
High Wycombe was substantially rebuilt from 1932, particularly the Newland area. St Mary's Street and the area around it have some excellent Georgian and Victorian properties. The town centre was rebuilt in the 1960s.
The High Street, however, has a number of 18th and 19th century buildings. It ends at the colonnaded Guildhall that was built in 1757 and renovated in 1859. The small octagonal-shaped Cornmarket opposite, known locally as the Pepper Pot, was rebuilt in 1761. The large parish church of All Saints[71] was founded in 1086, enlarged in the 18th century and extensively restored in 1889.
Frogmore still has some surviving Victorian buildings. There are larger blocks of flats built in the recent era around Queen Alexandra Road to accommodate the students who attend Buckinghamshire New University.
New builds are available in Daws Hill Lane, for example Doolittle Village. A large number are modern terrace houses and town houses.

Properties in High Wycombe which are built near the River Wye, such as in Victoria Street and Oakridge Road, are subject to flood warnings and alerts from time to time. If you are concerned that a property you are looking to buy is in a flood risk area, you should consider getting a flood risk report (click for more details). | There are a number of environmental factors that can effect a property in High Wycome, one of which is the close proximity of the property to an area of environmental or historical importance. This was flagged in a recent Environmental Report for Scholars Rise, Stokenchurch, High Wycombe, HP14 3FL, as the property was built on the Chilterns which was designated on the 30th March 1990 as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. | In section E2 of the HomeBuyer Report, the surveyor will review the roof coverings. This is completed through an inspection of accessible parts up to 3m and with the use of binoculars. An example of the information included from a survey in City Road, Radnage, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP14 4DW is "The main roof is of a traditional pitched design formed in a cut timber frame with a ridge, purlins and rafters, all clad with concrete tiles. The covering appears in reasonable condition to type and age. The underlining provided to the underside of the roof covering appears in reasonable condition to type and age. The roof structure is generally performing its function adequately and there is no deflection, sagging or any defects noted and no significant repair work necessary". |

Home Buyers Survey - What does it cover?
A Home Buyers Survey is completed by a qualified RICS surveyor and delivers a visual inspection of the property in High Wycombe and the surrounding garden. The aim of the survey, whether a Building Survey (which used to be known as a Full Structural Survey) or a HomeBuyers Report, is to identify potential risks or defects that you may not know are there such as cracks or damage to the structure of the property, subsidence, damp and infestations.
