Leamington Spa is a spa town situated on the River Leam, 3 miles east of Warwick, 9 miles south of Coventry and 30 miles south east of Birmingham. It became a spa town in the 18th century following the population increase due to its water which was rumoured to have medicinal qualities.

In the 19th century, tourism was primary industry within the town. Landmarks include the Art Gallery and Museum, the Spa Centre (theatre) and the Jephson Gardens. The Royal Pump Rooms is a Grade 2 listed building and was the most famous of several spa baths opening in Leamington. There are also beautiful gardens in the grounds that are popularly visited areas. The town hall is also a grand building within the town, with a statue of Queen Victoria outside.

The town has featured in a number of TV shows including Keeping Up Appearances, Chucklevision and Upstairs, Downstairs.

Transport
Leamington Spa does not have any major dual carriageways, however the A452 connects the town to the A46 (the Warwick Bypass). Leamington is very close to Warwick and so the transport links Warwick has are also easily available to Leamington Spa. Leamington Spa railway has regular services to Reading, Manchester Piccadilly and Birmingham. There are also services to London Marylebone and Bournemouth.
