STORY

Thatched properties look beautiful, but what lies underneath?

Thatched properties are a joy to survey but you need to get a surveyor with experience surveying them.

Thatched roofs are often made with straw or Norfolk water reed (more durable); however as with any durable material they will need replacing and this could be as often as 10 years. There is also a high chance of getting infestations living in the thatch which reduce its life.
